About the Speaker

Lori Walder, Director Marketing & Communications for Destination Winnipeg
Lori Walder is the Director, Marketing and Communications for Destination Winnipeg.  Lori has more than 20 years of experience in the marketing, design and communications field in both Toronto and in Winnipeg.  The positions she has held have given Lori a breadth of experience in the development, management and delivery of marketing strategies, corporate communications, print, video, retail, online and in working with people from a variety of backgrounds from the service, supplier and client side.

Lori received her Bachelor of Business Management degree, with a major in marketing, from Ryerson University in Toronto. For the next six years, she worked in the ad agency field in Toronto, progressing from the position of Production Assistant to Account Executive at one agency and then moving on to becoming the Production Manager at another.  After returning to Winnipeg in 1995, Lori assumed the position as the Director of Marketing for the Manitoba Call Centre Team, an economic development initiative of the Department of Industry, Trade and Tourism. This position gave Lori the opportunity to guide the development of a successful marketing and communications strategy for the Province's foray into the competitive call centre industry.  She then moved on to another new enterprise and became the Director, Marketing and Communications for a fledgling digital media integration software company, eZedia Inc.

Since joining Destination Winnipeg Inc. in 2003, Lori has worked to increase awareness of Winnipeg as place in which to work, live and play to both a business and tourism audience and in doing so, has increased the profile of Winnipeg nationally and internationally.
