About the Speaker

Mark Healy, Partner Torque Customer Strategy
Mark Healy brings ten years of marketing and leadership experience to Torque having worked with global companies and smaller privately held firms in verticals ranging from telecom to retail and healthcare. Mark's most recent experience lies in brand re-builds, international market assessments and full-scale marketing planning. Our clients benefit from his rigorous attention to detail along with his occasional one-liners that have been compared to the likes of Bill Murray and Steve Martin.
Mark is a professional engineer, an entrepreneur and a systematic thinker with specific expertise in market analysis, buyer behaviour insight development, communications management, process design and marketing planning.

In addition to leading client projects, Mark seeks out top talent and has an exceptional ability to cultivate Torque's talent pool. Mark's strength in developing rapport and building lasting relationships with clients, employees and the broader business community is simply a reflection of his integrity, trademark intensity, and his dependable sense of style. He writes a twice monthly 'Strategy & Tactics' column for Report on Business at the globeandmail.com, and is part of the Globe's new online Business Incubator, along with 1-800-GOT-JUNK's Brian Scudamore, among others.

Prior to Torque, Mark was a founder and Principal at a management consulting firm, where he was a consultant and ran the firm's operations and talent development.  Mark helped build the firm into a profitable multi-million dollar business, via design of innovative management systems, and successfully sold the enterprise.  Mark has also worked as a consultant and relationship manager with Iogen Bio-Products in the industrial biotech space, introducing leading-edge enzyme technology to clients in processing industries. He started his career as an efficiency and process specialist with Michelin Tire.

Mark lives by mantras like "no lazy thinking" and "processize everything", which is clearly the reason he has been recognized for numerous awards including the prestigious Graduate Business Foundation's International Leadership Award for co-founding a Habitat for Humanity legacy project as well as its annual conference which has attracted speakers such as Rudy Giuliani, Stephen Lewis and Ralph Nader. Most recently, Mark was nominated for Canada's Top 40 Under 40 award. He currently chairs the Marketing & Communications Committee for the Ivey Alumni Association Board of Directors where he just finished building two brands which will help to galvanize over 20,000 alumni, worldwide.

Mark is an Ivey Scholar Graduate of the Ivey MBA program, and a graduate of the Chemical Engineering Program at Queen's University. Mark lives with his wife Charlotte and their bulldog McDuff in Toronto.
